On Friday, 10 November 2023, the Pancasila and Civic Education Postgraduate Student Family (KMP PPKn) held a Scientific Forum on improving scientific writing with the theme of Strategies for Publishing Articles in Sinta 2 Journals. This activity, initiated by the Research and Science Division of KMP PPKn, aims to improve the ability of postgraduate students in scientific writing so that their work can be published at least in national journals with a Sinta 2 index.

This scientific forum was held online with guest speaker M. Guntur S.Pd., M.Pd, Head of the PGSD IPB Cirebon Study Programme, who explained effective strategies for publishing articles in Sinta 2 journals. Guntur also shared tips and tricks for getting scientific papers published in Sinta 2 journals, one of which is to study the style of the target journal, especially in terms of discipline and timing, particularly during the editing phase. ‘The most important thing for getting our writing published in a journal is to study its style, and then don't forget to make corrections immediately if the reviewer responds,’ said Guntur. Furthermore, Guntur also explained that to improve the quality of the writing, one should read more Q1 and Q2 journals, narrow the focus of the article, pay attention to the structure of the article, and review the completed article.

This scientific forum was attended by 40 postgraduate students, both Master's and Doctoral students in Civic Education, who are enthusiastic about publishing scientific papers. Kadek, one of the participants from the Master's programme in Civic Education, said that this activity was very useful, especially for students who have had difficulty submitting journals. ‘Forums like this should be held every semester so that we can become more proficient in writing journals,’ said Kadek enthusiastically.

In his speech, the coordinator of the Master's Programme in Civic Education, Prof. Dr. Mukhammad Murdiono, M.Pd., explained that the programme strongly supports the scientific forum initiated by the Research and Science Division of KMP PPKn because it is a tangible manifestation of the literacy programme, which encourages students to actively explore ideas and express their thoughts in the form of scientific articles. It is hoped that with this forum, more PPKn students will become involved in the world of research and be able to make positive contributions through the publication of scientific articles.
