Starting their Academic Year, 2023/2024 Postgraduate Students are Welcomed by Lecturers and KMP PPKn UNY

Friday, 11 August 2023 The Postgraduate Student Family of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (KMP PPKn) Faculty of Social, Law, and Political Sciences (FISHIPOL) at Yogyakarta State University (UNY) enthusiastically organised the New Student Campus Life Orientation Programme (PKKMB) for new postgraduate students in the Department of PKnH UNY (Master's in PPKn and Doctorate in PKn). This event was held online via Zoom and involved the committee and lecturers working together to welcome 33 new Master's and Doctoral students in the Department of Civic Education and Law (PKnH) UNY. This activity was initiated as an appropriate step to welcome new postgraduate students and became an important platform for creating bonds of togetherness between students and lecturers.

In addition to fostering close relationships between new students and lecturers, PKKMB is also designed to provide academic orientation, helping new students better understand the curriculum, rules and regulations, and other important aspects related to postgraduate studies at PKnH UNY. Although the event was held via Zoom, the atmosphere of togetherness remained strong and cohesive throughout the event. ‘We welcome you and congratulate you on joining the big family at Yogyakarta State University,’ said Prof. Dr. Sunarso, M.Si (Head of the PKnH Department). He also advised students to continue to be enthusiastic about pursuing the highest level of education possible.

Throughout the event, interactions between new students, lecturers, and the organising committee unfolded naturally, creating a supportive and welcoming environment. Dialogue sessions, self-introductions, and group discussions became valuable moments that strengthened relationships among participants. This online forum successfully created a positive experience, ensuring that new students felt welcomed and ready to begin their academic journey at PKnH UNY. With the successful implementation of this activity, it is hoped that it will serve as a strong foundation for building a solid academic community.
