Professor of Political Communication at Indonesia University of Education Becomes Guest Speaker for Public Lecture for Master's Students in Civic Education at Yogyakarta State University

On Friday, 24 November 2023, the Master's Programme in Civic Education held a Visiting Professor event featuring Professor of Political Communication from the Indonesia University of Education, Prof. Dr. H. Karim Suryadi, M.Si. The event, moderated by Dr. Budi Mulyono, S.Pd., M.Pd, a lecturer in the Master's Programme in Pancasila and Citizenship Education, attracted significant attention from postgraduate students, with the 150 available seats unable to accommodate all participants wishing to attend the visiting professor session.

This Visiting Professor programme was held with the theme of Political Dynamics Ahead of the 2024 Elections. The event was officially opened by the Head of the Department of PKnH, Faculty of Social Sciences, Law and Political Science, Yogyakarta State University, Prof. Dr. Sunarso, M.Si. The discussion during the Visiting Professor event focused on the political event to be held by the Republic of Indonesia on 14 February 2024. A key point in this Visiting Professor programme is the importance of selecting leaders based on criteria that one personally deems to be the best.

During the event, participants were very enthusiastic in listening to the discussion presented by Prof. Dr. H Karim Suryadi, M.Si. Several questions were asked by participants, namely Suhardi Yanto Koda and Muhammad Jaelani, who are postgraduate students of Civic Education, Faculty of Social Sciences, Law and Political Science, Yogyakarta State University, and Akmal Firmansyah, an undergraduate student in Civic Education, Faculty of Social Sciences, Law and Political Science, who asked the speaker questions related to the paradigm and problems of democracy, campaigns and the general election taking place in 2024.
