PKnH UNY lecturers attended the ICMI DIY Seminar at IPB Bogor

Bogor, 13–15 December 2024 — The Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) held a seminar themed ‘Islamic Education Innovation for the Future’ at the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) on 13–15 December 2024. The event was attended by a number of academics, community leaders, and students from various educational institutions across Indonesia. Dr. Suharno, M.Si., a lecturer in Civic Education at Yogyakarta State University (UNY), was invited to represent ICMI DIY alongside Gusti Prabu. The event highlighted the importance of innovation in Islamic education and how such innovation can produce a younger generation capable of facing future challenges.

The event examined various points related to Islamic education, including Student Character Development, Improving the Quality of Islamic Education, and the Use of Technology in Islamic Education. All participants actively took part in the question and answer session. The seminar concluded with the conclusion that innovation in Islamic education is important in order to prepare a young generation that is faithful, intelligent, and ethical. Dr. Suharno emphasised that cooperation from all parties is essential to achieve this goal. It is hoped that this seminar will provide new ideas and strategies for educators and participants in developing better Islamic education in the future.
